ESKIMO stands for the "spirit
of kayaking" - RIKUTEC for innovation and high
tech.
RIKUTEC is split into 4 divisions
- Development and construction of blow
moulding machines (the worlds largest blow moulding
machine is build by RIKUTEC)
- Industrial containers
- Water & Environment (septic tanks
/water-tanks)
- NEW! Water sports with ESKIMO
as the flag ship
Now ESKIMO
takes advantage of RIKUTECs expertise and know
how:
- ESKIMO-Kayaks
will be manufactured on a brand new machine using
Bi-X blow moulding technology. The first time
it will be possible to produce defined bi-coloured
kayaks using high molecular polyethylene with its
outstanding performance.
- For research
and development ESKIMO
can rely on an experienced team of engineers and designers.
- ESKIMO-kayaks
will be produced under ISO 9001 standard

New ways to a better Product: IMP
(Integrating Molding Process)
Modern technologies and their combination
will result in new solutions. The key point of RIKUTEC
& ESKIMOs procedure
is the integration of most of the kayak components directly
to the shell no holes, no screws, no rivets
no problems, less weight, lower price!

 |
New
hand grip
The new integrated hand grip needs
no screws or bolts making it unnecessary
to drill holes through the kayak shell.
The water release bung is incorporated
in the handgrip.

New
cockpit combing
The new cockpit combing: The basic
thigh brace can be fitted with adjustable pads (optional)
and is an integral part of the cockpit combing.

Blow Moulded by RIKUTEC - Quality
made in Germany
The advantage of the blow moulding
technology is based on the use of high molecular polyethylene
a material with outstanding properties, which
are by far better than roto moulded materials.
Blow moulded kayaks are:
- More impact resistant and therefore
safer
- More scratch resistant
- Lighter and there for better to handle
|
NEW! Bi-X blow
moulding technology only by RIKUTEC.
With this patented technology
it will be possible for the first time to have
blow moulded kayaks
in a defined bi-coloured version!

How it works:
Yes, it's going to get a bit technical. No, it won't hurt,
and the sketches should help to improve your understanding.
OK, a mixing machine combines high molecular polyethylene,
color dye, and an additional UV stabilizer in optimal
proportions. This mixture is then passed through a series
of funnels (Einfülltrichter) into an extruder (Extruder)
from where it passes into a melt accumulator (Speicherkopf).
During the process the material is melted, homogenized,
and its density increases.
Once the melt accumulator is full, the molten mixture
is forced over an adjustable tool, into the mold. The
tool makes the mixture into a tube, and its settings affect
the wall thickness of the kayak to be made. Once the tube
of material has reached its final length, the two halves
of the boat mold (Blaswerkzeug-Bootsform) are closed around
it and air is blown into the middle through a series of
needles, until the tube expands and lies against the inside
of the mold. The mold is then left to cool before it is
opened, and the finished hull can be removed. |
